Las Vegas is disgusting.

I'm spending the next few days eating very light and balanced. My stomach just couldn't take any more of this heavy, rich crap I've been cramming into it lately. I guess I'm a bit of a masochist then, since I've spent the majority of the afternoon watching the Food Network.

Right now Unwrapped is on, and it's all about Vegas specialties. No, not herpes and crack whores—though Las Vegas does boast some of the finest around—but Las Vegas food specialties.

They taped some footage inside a more "upscale" and "expensive" buffet, which proved brutally honest in its portrayal of the average Las Vegas patron. From the midwest housewife in her pink and white striped shirt and gold hoop earrings, to the geriatric couple going for their fifth helping of dessert, this buffet had it all.

I'm happy to never go to Vegas. I've tried, and let me tell you there are many easier and more pleasant ways to get herpes.

...Or is anyone else entirely bored by Björk lately? Actually, she's been pretty damn boring for quite a while now. That's what happens when artists start taking themselves too seriously. I really used to love her, now when I hear her, I just find it irritating.

Activity.

It feels great to be active again! I feel like I'm actually making some progress in gymnastics. I went on a run the other night (and HATED it) and last night I renewed my membership at the rock climbing gym.

Rock climbing seriously kicked my ass! All of the foot holds at my gym seem to have shrunk, giving you a tiny nub with which to support your body. My finger tips were feeling raw by the end, and my hand was exhausted.

On Tuesday morning, I'll be flying on a trapeze for my first time ever! Charley will be joining me. I can't wait!

Fudgepacking cowboy picture.

I just finished watching Brokeback (yeah, got the DVD after work). Still so sad. Such a simple, yet powerful message about living your life honestly. About all you stand to lose when you are afraid to be true.

Ah, I'll probably watch it many times more.

A Queen of a Morning.

On the drive to work this morning I was listening to Queen and the song Under Pressure came on. My mind started racing, thinking about how wonderful it was for two such beautiful minds as Freddy Mercury and David Bowie to have come together. I felt like I could explode. Then I suddenly got really sad, and had to stop myself from crying when I was hit by the realization that nothing like that would ever happen again.

Really bummed.

I'm really bummed this morning, because I realized the large tub of oat meal I bought last night are instant oats. Nasty! I ate them anyway. Actually I could only get halfway through. Instant oats are SO gross. All mushy and disturbingly gritty at the same time. :(
